Underestimation

Is underestimation something that has to be done all the time?
I mean why can’t people respect people for whom, or what they really are? It gets me that when some one does the right thing they’re considered a punk, or a wimp, or something. Why do people even care? Why can’t people be who they are and other people be who they are? That, my friend, disconcerts me. It disconcerts me a lot to watch someone be tormented, or teased, or disdained because of something they like or how they look.
